Ruminate
The thought repeats
over and over, in my head
like a cow, chewing its cud
over and over
(does it ever swallow?)
considering the problem
from different angles
sometimes just letting it
lie there, tiptoeing around it
peeking as it teases
it won’t let me walk away
and so I am left to ruminate.
