SOLSC '18 Day Six: Freefall

The Avowal
As swimmers dare
to lie face to the sky
and water bears them,
as hawks rest upon air
and air sustains them,
so would I learn to attain
freefall, and float
into Creator Spirit’s deep embrace,
knowing no effort earns
that all-surrounding grace.

  1. "One with the circling hawk" speaks to me. I see hawks often and marvel at their graceful flight, but your line "Flight is free fall after a launch," really grabbed my imagination. Deep thinking for early morning. Thanks for sharing your beautiful poetry.

  2. Chris, this is beautiful! I'm inspired by your 'in the style of' poem. I'm going to bring your lines with me today, "I am enough. I have enough. I am blessed..." Thanks for a great slice

    1. Lanny, I almost included specific incidents when I did indeed let go in times of crisis, when calm just washed over me and I knew all was as it was meant to be. Maybe another Slice....
